How to save yourself from drowning: Kick, fight, pull up to the surface, stay calm, breathe slowly (do not gasp), keep breathing until your heart slows to a normal rate, look in the mirror, do not look away, learn to recognize the image, learn to accept the reflection, go outside, live life, take small steps, if you stumble- dance, enjoy the little things, enjoy life, look in the mirror- smile. This is how to save yourself from drowning.
I’ve also heard it’s often better not to kick and fight - that you will simply tire yourself.
If you relax, you’ll find that you float.
